As a family-owned and operated resort since 1937, our goal is to create the best possible experience for families and friends at Island View Resort. We have 13 spacious, sustainably built cabins with lakeside views, private decks, and full access to a dozen activities that are fun for everyone.

About Your Hosts
Meet the Brodeen Family
Before buying Island View Resort, the Brodeens had vacationed across northern Minnesota for over fifteen years to enjoy the outdoors as a family. One day on a trip to Orr, they passed the property and saw the “Island View Resort” sign. Welcomed in by the owners at the time, the Brodeen family explored the peninsula and immediately loved it. It was a perfect slice of northern Minnesota, full of luscious greenery, fun activities, beautiful log cabins, and private access to Pelican Lake. For the next three years, their family returned to Island View Resort for their vacations before eventually buying the resort where they had made many of their fondest family memories.
Once as vacationers and now as the owners, the Brodeen family loves to share their favorite place on earth: Island View Resort.
About the Area
We’re located at the western edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness on the peninsula of Pelican Lake in Orr, Minnesota. With over 11,500 acres of water and fifty islands to create the excellent underwater structure, the fishing community flocks here year after year to reel in a record catch. But besides an incredible view and beautiful sunsets, the customer experience we received was beyond anything we expected.
